My Presentation on Web 2.0 in Healthcare to the Northern Ohio HIMSS

On Friday I presented at the conference of Northern Ohio Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society in Cleveland.  The powerpoint is posted here.  There was a positive response with lots of interest in hearing more.  There is also an initiative to do more with SecondLife as the activity on the Cleveland Island grows. I am not a member yet, but probably will signon soon.
The other presentations from the conference are worth checking out:

John, I play a little on SecondLife at home, when my first life allows me to.

I wanted to check it out because the medical librarian world has already begun to really explore that area.

Librarians have set up reference libraries on Info Island and Health Info Island. They are apparently getting some good "traffic."

One thing about SecondLife is that in addition to it being a pretty large application and drain on most regular computers, it is also easy to lose time on it. There is a learning curve to using it and navigating.

I am not sure if it is for everyone but it is an interesting and different approach to things.

    John,
I wanted to use a similar line of thought and express it with the Medicaid industry at the MMIS conference. I wanted to use some of your chain of thoughts. Let me know if you will be oK with that idea.BTW I could not agree more with your presentation. However, I believe focussed social groups generated by social service workers (most of them work with the state) is a very meaningful and powerful data.
